What is Nutri-Score?
Nutri-Score is a front-of-pack nutrition label designed to help consumers make healthier food choices at a glance. It uses a five-color, five-letter scale ranging from A (dark green) indicating the most nutritious, to E (red) the least nutritious. This intuitive visual guide empowers consumers to quickly compare the nutritional quality of food products.
We have fully adopted the newest, most up-to-date Nutri-Score system to ensure accuracy and transparency.
Why Nutri-Score Matters
Adopted across several European countries, including France, Germany, Spain, and Belgium, Nutri-Score promotes public health by:

With CalcMenu, Nutri-Score becomes a powerful tool to evaluate and communicate the nutritional quality of food, seamlessly integrated into your recipe management workflow.
We follow the latest algorithmic model authorized by Santé Publique France.
To calculate a recipe’s Nutri-Score, we collect each ingredient's nutritional values per 100g (this includes energy, sugar, saturated fat, sodium, fiber, and protein), its weight in the final dish, and the percentage of fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, and qualifying oils.
We also apply the standard multipliers for dried or concentrated items. All this data is then aggregated per 100g to determine the final Nutri-Score.
Each food item is assigned:
Positive points for components like:
- Fruits, vegetables, pulses, nuts, and specific oils (olive, walnut, rapeseed)
- Fiber
- Protein (in most cases)
Negative points for components like:
- Energy (kJ)
- Saturated fatty acids
- Total sugars
- Sodium
Our Commitment to the New Standard
We are aligned with the new Nutri-Score rules, including the revised treatment of certain food categories, such as added fats, cheeses, beverages, and updated thresholds. This ensures that your calculations remain compliant with the latest public health regulations and labeling requirements.
We do not support or calculate the outdated Nutri-Score model.
